Origami Gift Box - Mix & Match Lids - Learn how to make a pretty origami gift box with interchangeable lid decorations, you can create many different looks with this one origami box. - paper kawaii - #origami #box #giftbox #bow #origamibow #cute #kawaii #diy #crafts #papercrafts #howto #instructions #tutorial

I didn’t mean to make this box such a big deal, I ended up making 5 videos in total, which took longer than I thought! There is also one bow which I haven’t done a tutorial for yet XD

So far there are three origami bow which can fit onto the lid, as well as an origami frame, which you could put anything in, like a photo, square of fabric or just some nice paper. You can even add bow number two on top of the frame for a crazy effect!

Level: ★★-★☆☆
Design: I have just found that the lid features in one of Tomoko Fuse’s book, is very similar. 😓 All bows are my design.

This is a playlist starting with the Lid and Lower Box:

You will need:

Lid: 1 sheet of square paper – I used 15 x 15 cm
Lower Box: 1 sheet of square paper that is 20 x 20 cm
Final size: 7.5 x 7.5 x 3.7 cm
To make different sizes:
A box that is 10 x 10 cm you’d need:
lid: 20 x 20 cm, lower box: 26 x 26 cm ( you can also make taller or flatter boxes by using smaller or larger paper)

For the Bows:

1 quarter strip of A4 paper (21 x 29.7 cm = 5.25 x 29.7 cm)
Large bow (version 3): 1 third strip of A4 paper (21 x 29.7 cm = 7 x 29.7 cm)
– a Chopstick

If you made the box from a different size paper, take the width of the paper you used for the lid:
For example if you used 20 cm paper for the lid:
20 x 1.4 =
20 x 1.98 =
Gives you 28 x 39.6 cm – which you can cut into strips 🙂
