Learn how to make a modular origami hinged box with lids that open to the sides, this box would make a very neat wedding ring box.
Although this model requires a bit of measuring and marking thirds, it’s very simple when you’ve got the hang of it.
The best paper to use would be thicker paper like construction paper, thin card maybe, but not really thin origami paper.

You will need:
· 3 sheets of square paper.
– 1 is 20 x 20cm
– 2 are 14 x 14cm
(This will make a box that is 5cm tall x 5cm wide x 5.5cm deep)
· A ruler & pencil (to measure and mark)
· Glue
Smaller size:
– 1 is 15 x 15cm
– 2 are 10.5 x 10.5cm
The gap to leave for the lid: 0.4cm
(This will make a box that is 3.5cm tall x 3.5cm wide x 4cm deep)
Large size:
– 1 is 30 x 30 cm
– 2 are 21 x 21 cm
The gap to leave for the lid: 0.8cm
(This will make a box that is 7cm tall x 7cm wide x 8cm deep)
To get the correct measurement:
Take your large size paper.
Your large paper width x 0.7 = Your smaller width.
Your smaller width ÷ 23.6 = The gap for the lid.
