Origami Star Flower Video Tutorial

I had a request for the diagram for this origami star flower, so here it is, and a quick video tutorial too. This model is cute and kind of looks like there is a lucky star in the middle.

You will need to start with a pentagon, so check out my video tutorial on how to fold that first if you need to.

Update 2021 – I’ve been going through all of my posts, spring cleaning, I wanted to delete this actually as I do not know who the designer is, even though I’m sure that someone commented somewhere about it, but I cannot find it.

So, if you know, please leave a comment. I just don’t like having this up here without the proper credit to the designer. However it is linked from around the web and people still view this page quite often.

Here is the diagram:

Enjoy! xxx

i’m really pleased with the outcome of the star~ i tried a practice one first on plain paper before using the origami paper, it was a little tricky but overall not as complicated as it seemed. thanks for the tutorial! ^-^

Great tutorial! I have a question though… do you know the dimensions of the star? I see you started with a pentagon from a letter paper

The number of basic origami folds is small, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. The best known origami model is probably the Japanese paper crane.
