Learn how to make this simple modular mini origami book with video and photo tutorial, Simple step by step instructions. Great gift & cute!

After 2 years I have finally made a video to go with the photo tutorial I made here.

I have simplified the process quite a bit, with less cutting. As it has many parts it is classed as modular origami.

You will need:

1 sheet of 6 x 6 inch (or any square) paper for the cover

8 sheets the same size for the pages.

7 halves make a 10 leafed book. you can increase the page count by simply using more paper, it will need to be an odd number, i.e, 9 for a 12 leafed book etc.

The finished book made with 6 x 6 inch paper will measure about 1.5 x 1.5 inches. Its pretty cute, and can be made even smaller.

You can use any size paper, rectangular paper, A4 or letter paper will produce tall books like the ones in the image above. It is the same method.

Therefore I added Duth subtitles to your video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_editor?v=tBgpLhtZHkw&ui=sub&lang=nl&action_mde_edit_form=1&bl=csps&ref=hub&tab=captions).Would you mind if shared your video on my blog?Kind regards,Leen

It’s possible to make these books if you don’t have the long paper for the pages. I used two sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ cut down to 10.5″ x 3″, 4 strips. On the last strip, I cut off one 1.5″ section. My finished book has 11 pages. So fun and addictive to make!

Hi relly, The red one was made by starting with A5 paper (half of A4 paper or half of letter paper). So each page module is ‘half of A5 paper’.. hope that makes sense, you might need to try some different sizes.

The music paper was from a music score book I have, but you could print some out, search for ‘music score printouts’ in google images or have a look at the download from this blog post: http://thegraphicsfairy.com/printable-sheet-music-diy-project-cute-desk/

That colour combination sounds great, so glad that you enjoyed the tutorial and hope you will subscribe and come back now and then, I’m hoping to update the website more often in the future.

There will be another version of the origami book, called the blizzard book 🙂
