Origami Rubbish Bin Instructions – Moving Trash Can

Origami Rubbish Bin Instructions - Moving Trash Can via @paper_kawaii

I thought it would be neat to have a little origami rubbish bin for my desk. As with most ideas, they end up becoming more and more complicated, so I had to simplify this one a bit.

The flap on this origami box, closes back to it’s position after pushing it… so it is similar to the swinging lids on some trash cans.

You would need to use bigger paper to make a decent sized bin, maybe 40 x 40 cm or use some wrapping paper.

This origami rubbish box uses the same box as the Origami Tool Box (tutorial here) – with a seperate flap.

A single diagram is for sale in my shop, here.

This model is featured in my book, Kawaii Origami, more info:

I loooooved this box! Great job Chrissy =D

I was expecting it to use glue or something but no; you got an awesome idea on how to make it using only folds. I’ll definitely fold my own. I’m glad I stumbled upon it.

Thanks Chrissy : )

Great video. Thank you. Easy to follow. I will post my toolbox later today on my blog if you would like to check it out. On the lid I used just a bit glue on the flaps. Have a great day. Renate
